Perfect Score: R&M Williams Achieves Maximum Considerate Constructors Rating at Croft Street
R&M Williams has once again demonstrated its commitment to the highest standards of site management, achieving a perfect score of 45 out of 45 in the latest Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) assessment at its ongoing refurbishment project on Croft Street, Swansea.
The project, which involves the internal refurbishment of four residential blocks and two maisonettes, including kitchen and bathroom upgrades, fire remediation works and new roof coverings, is being delivered with residents remaining in occupation throughout. That context makes the achievement all the more impressive. Working around residents in situ presents a range of operational and logistical challenges, and maintaining the highest standards of site conduct throughout is no small task.
The CCS assessment covers three core areas: respect for the community, care for the environment, and value for the workforce. R&M Williams scored 15 out of 15 in every category, placing the project firmly in the Excellent band across the board. The Total Report Score of 45 out of 45 is the maximum attainable rating under the scheme.
Due to the complexity of the project and the presence of residents on site, CCS monitoring visits have been taking place on a regular basis, meaning the team is consistently held to the highest benchmark. To sustain a perfect score across multiple visits is a testament to the discipline, professionalism and genuine care shown by everyone involved on site.
R&M Williams would like to extend its thanks to Simon Knoyle for his continued support and guidance throughout the assessment process. His advice has been invaluable to the team.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is an independent, nationally recognised programme that sets a Code of Considerate Practice for construction sites across the UK. Sites that register with the scheme are assessed by independent monitors against the code, with scores used to benchmark performance across the industry. A score of 9 in any individual section, or 27 across the total report, is considered a conforming score. A score of 45 represents excellence in every respect.
For R&M Williams, accreditation under the CCS is not simply a tick-box exercise. It reflects the company’s broader commitment to the communities in which it operates and the people it works alongside. On a project like Croft Street, where residents are living through a complex and wide-ranging programme of works, that commitment takes on a very real, practical significance. Keeping disruption to a minimum, maintaining clear communication with residents, protecting the local environment, and ensuring the welfare of the workforce are not aspirations. They are expectations the team delivers on, day in, day out.
The Croft Street project is part of R&M Williams’ wider portfolio of residential refurbishment and fire remediation work across South Wales, with the company continuing to build long-term relationships with social housing providers and local authorities across the region.
As the project progresses, R&M Williams remains focused on delivering the same standard of work and site management that has earned this recognition, and on ensuring that every resident and neighbour affected by the works continues to be treated with the respect and consideration they deserve.
