Ysgol Calon Lân Takes Over Our Croft Street Hoardings
When we handed pupils from Ysgol Calon Lân their materials, we gave them a brief: make it yours.
What came back was something special. Pupils from ages 3 to 19 didn’t just paint boards, they told a story. Their community. Their school. The world they see around them and how they feel about it. Every year group played a part, and the result is a collection of artwork that’s as vibrant and varied as the school itself.
R&M Williams donated all materials for the project, and our Social Value Manager, Freya Church worked closely with the school to bring it to life.
The finished artwork is now proudly displayed on our site hoardings at Croft Street, Swansea, seen every day by the local community, the people who live and work nearby, and everyone passing through.
It’s a small thing that means a lot. Construction sites aren’t always known for being welcoming spaces. Putting the voices and creativity of local young people front and centre is one way we can change that.
